Meet The Team

Dominic George-Oppong
Hi, I’m Dominic, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student with aspirations for a career in finance. I co-founded Unithrive after receiving countless questions on social media about getting into university, finding internships, and securing jobs after graduation. It made me realise how confusing and overwhelming the journey can be without the right guidance.

Through social media, I’ve reached millions and connected with students who might not have considered certain fields before. My goal is to create a system that supports people from school to university, and from university to their dream jobs. I want to build a community where we help each other, break down barriers, and make opportunities more accessible for everyone.

Kieran McRae
Hi, I’m Kieran McRae, a third-year Computer Science student currently on my placement year as a Software Engineer at an automobile company. I’ve created university skits and advice videos for years, gaining hundreds of millions of views on Instagram and TikTok. My content focuses on relatable student struggles and sharing practical, engaging advice based on my experiences.

After receiving countless messages asking for support with university life, career advice, and internship preparation, I realised the need for a central platform where students could find the guidance and resources they need. That’s when I partnered with Dom to help build UniThrive—a free, inclusive community designed to bridge the gap between university and careers.

My goal with UniThrive is to create a space where students can access valuable resources, connect with others, and feel empowered to achieve their goals. I’m passionate about hosting events, providing realistic advice, and making opportunities accessible to everyone, especially those who may not have the same support systems. UniThrive is about ensuring every student feels equipped and confident to take the next step in their journey. Together, we’re building a supportive community that’s changing lives.

Diego Ramirez
Hi, I’m Diego, a senior at the Gabelli School of Business majoring in Finance with a concentration in Fintech & a minor in Economics. My passion lies in combining finance and technology to create innovative solutions that drive efficiency and impact. Whether leading an operations modernization project or implementing machine learning and blockchain technologies, I’ve seen how transformative innovation can be in solving complex problems.

I’m also deeply committed to mentorship and empowering others to succeed. As an Ambassador and Mentor at UniThrive, my goal is to provide students with the right tools to maximize every opportunity they’re given. I aim to demystify the journey from school to university and into a meaningful career, helping students navigate their options, build confidence, and unlock their potential.

Nufan Mohamed
Hello, I am Nufan, a first-year Software Engineering student in London, and I have big aspirations for a successful career in tech. I came across UniThrive back in sixth form through Kieran and Dom, whose content really inspired me in preparation for university. Upon joining their community, I came across so many great resources, such as the Computer Science Student dashboard, which helped me make an effective transition.

Now, I am the Creative Lead Ambassador at UniThrive, helping students transition into university with advice and resources. I assist BTEC and A-Level students in choosing which university to attend, including apprenticeships and educational support. I will always encourage students in making choices for themselves to maximise opportunities, providing a thriving community for future generations.

I’ve also completed an internship as a software engineer, which gave me hands-on experience and reinforced my passion for problem-solving and building impactful solutions.
Through my experiences, I’ve realized how challenging it can be to find the right resources and guidance, especially when stepping into competitive fields like technology.
My goal is to continue building a supportive community where we break down barriers, share knowledge, and make opportunities more accessible to everyone. I’m passionate about helping others unlock their potential and confidently pursue careers in tech.

I aim to do the same for others through UniThrive.

Hello, my name is Daniel Vanie and I am a first year student at University of East Anglia currently studying Economics. I love all things finance and Literature-related, aiming to follow a career in Asset management and / or investment banking while establishing myself as an author.
My role in UniThrive is to answer tickets and Inquiries primarily related to finance sector students and CVs as well as helping out where able. I initially joined UniThrive with the desire to make the most of my time as a university student and found myself motivated by my now fellow ambassadors to pursue opportunities and events. I am growing alongside UniThrive and aim to help others do so too.

Andre Fernandes

Hello. I am Andre, a first-year economics student at the University of Warwick, who aspires to work in finance. I am enthusiastic about how corporate entities shape their strategy according to economic factors and phenomena and eager to share that interest with other students.

Using what I have learnt through academic institutions coupled with work experience, I hope to bring students at A-level/IB the knowledge I wish I had before applying to universities. I also hope to help first-year students apply for finance-based internships. At UniThrive, I review CVs & Cover Letters and prepare firm-specific documents open for students to learn about companies that they are applying to, ensuring they are knowledgeable on their relevant company's operations, revenue streams, culture, leadership, ESG focus and financial performance. This will hopefully allow all UniThrive members to gain a competitive advantage during tough application processes.
